The San Francisco 49ers being on bye this week has afforded their players much-needed time to rest and recover.
For star running back Christian McCaffrey, this free time has given him another job: the officiant of a wedding.
This was shown by several photos that McCaffrey’s wife, Olivia Culpo, posted to her Instagram story on Thursday. The first one showed McCaffrey wearing a black shirt that said, “Minister” along with a matching hat. He was also holding a massive book.
“Thank you reverend! @christianmccaffrey,” the post was captioned.
The first thought when seeing this might be that McCaffrey went as a minister for Halloween.
But it proved to be the real thing with Culpo’s next post, which showed her husband working as an officiant for an actual wedding ceremony.
“In typical @erikashay style, she gave us 2 hours notice to pull this off. Congratulation Tim and Erika!!!” Culpo’s story was captioned, which showed McCaffrey wearing the same outfit and holding the same book during the ceremony.
Culpo followed this with a third post showing a golf cart with a “Just Married” banner hanging over it, serving as further proof that this was a real wedding.
McCaffrey is always prepared for whatever he has to face on the football field.
Let’s hope he was as prepared to tackle this late-notice officiant opportunity.
