Aaron Judge was out of the lineup Thursday, but there is no reason to be concerned.
This was a planned day off for the outfielder, who returned to the lineup Tuesday after missing 84 games with a stress fracture in his right rib.
“I think he feels ready to play and wants to play, but probably at some level understands today,” manager Aaron Boone said before the Yankees’ 10-3 win over the Rockies. “Hopefully today is a good recovery day for him on some level as we continue to build him up.”
Judge will be back in the lineup Friday in the Subway Series opener against the Mets.
Boone said Judge would was available off the bench, but he wasn’t needed in the blowout victory.
In two games, Judge went 2-for-7 with three strikeouts.
After playing six innings in right field Tuesday, he logged eight innings the following day.

Sean and Brielle met when both of them were attending a camp for children whose parents lives were lost on 9/11. They later reconnected as students at Boston College.
Brielle was a big Yankees fan as a youngster and became friends with Derek Jeter as well as then-New York Times reporter Jack Curry,
Curry, now a studio analyst at YES Network, has remained close friends with Brielle and the Saracini family.
He will narrate a special, six-minute profile on YES as part of its pre-game coverage.

Boone was unsure about the next step for rehabbing right-hander Clarke Schmidt.
