Bad Bunny brought eyes to the screen like never before.

The Puerto Rican pop star’s performance at the Super Bowl 2026 halftime show drew 4.157 billion views worldwide within the first 24 hours, according to Roc Nation, the show’s producer.

The staggering total — which comprises U.S. broadcast, global broadcast, YouTube and digital properties — marks a record, said Roc Nation.

The specific components of data collection weren’t provided, and it’s unclear whether the report was independently verified.

The NFL sparked intense controversy when it announced that Bad Bunny, 31, would perform at the Super Bowl halftime show at Levi’s Stadium on Feb. 8, becoming the first Latino solo artist to headline the set — and doing so almost exclusively in Spanish.

The divisive decision was met with direct counter-programming in the form of an alternate halftime show, hosted by Turning Point USA.

But the NFL stood pat with its selection, trusting Spotify’s most-streamed artist from 2020–22 and 2025 to command the masses with a unifying spectacle.

The gamble appears to have paid off.

The 13-minute cultural celebration — complete with vibrant set pieces, spirited dance numbers, celebrity star power and a literal wedding — averaged 128.2 million viewers during halftime, more than the game itself, and third all-time in Super Bowl halftime history.

The YouTube video currently sits north of 117 million views.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell reflected on the performance last week, lauding Bad Bunny’s performance and emphasizing his satisfaction with how everything played out.

“As far as entertaining everyone, you know that we’ve never picked a halftime performer that everyone loved,” Goodell said on the St. Brown Podcast, also revealing that he went back to watch the performance on YouTube a few days later.

“I think Bad Bunny did a great job. The charge, always when we pick the halftime show, is really to find somebody who can unite the world. Somebody who can take that moment, use their talents to bring everyone together. And I thought he did a great job of that.”
