A Jets quarterback is stirring political controversy — but it isn’t Aaron Rodgers this time.

Brett Favre, who played the 2008 season with the Jets after a legendary run with the Packers, used Patrick Mahomes to subtly vent about Taylor Swift’s presidential endorsement of Kamala Harris.

Favre responded favorably to a post from Outkick that promoted the Chiefs quarterback saying he won’t endorse Harris or Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election.

“Good take by Mahomes — I see a lot of celebs trying to influence their audience instead of letting the people think for themselves,” Favre wrote on X before making it cleared that Swift was his intended target.

“If the best choice for them ain’t clear and they’re easily swayed by their fav pop artist, it’s not going to be a good thing.”

Swift, who previously endorsed Joe Biden ahead of the 2020 election, recently expressed to her 284 million Instagram followers that she would be voting for Harris after the conclusion of last week’s debate.

“Because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” wrote Swift, who is dating Mahomes’ teammate, Travis Kelce.

Favre, who was born and raised in Mississippi, ironically endorsed Trump in 2020.

“My Vote is for what makes this country great, freedom of speech and religion, the second amendment, hard-working tax-paying citizens, police and military,” Favre wrote on X a month before Trump was defeated by Joe Biden in the 2020 election.

“In this election, we have freedom of choice, which all should respect. For me and these principles, my vote is for [Donald Trump].”

Mahomes took a different approach when asked by reporters on Sept. 11.

“I think I’ve always said that I don’t want my place or platform to be used to endorse a candidate either way,” Mahomes said. “My place is to inform people to get registered to vote and inform people to do their own research and make the best decision for their own family.”

Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, has been added to the election discourse after she liked an Instagram post supporting Trump.

“I want to thank beautiful Brittany Mahomes for so strongly defending me, and the fact that MAGA is the greatest and most powerful Political Movement in the History of our now Failing Country,” Trump posted on Truth Social on Sept. 4.

“With Crime and Illegal Immigration totally out of control, INFLATION Ravaging all Americans, and a World that is laughing at the stupidity of our hapless ‘leaders,’ it is nice to see someone who loves our Country, and wants to save it from DOOM. What a great couple – See you both at the Super Bowl!”

Since Swift’s announcement of her support for Harris, Trump has gone on an “I hate Taylor Swift” campaign and some have questioned whether the political differences have threatened Brittany and Swift’s blossoming friendship.

However, the two and their significant others attended the U.S. Open together with their Chiefs boyfriends.
