The BFFs versus Zach Bryan war took another wild turn on Friday.
If you haven’t been following the drama, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy dropped a scathing diss track Wednesday with Barstool personality Josh Richards about the country singer after his split from Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia.
Portnoy, Richards and LaPaglia host Barstool’s “BFFs” podcast.
They released a tell-all episode of their “BFFs” podcast on Friday — following a hiatus as LaPaglia dealt with being “blindsided” from the split — and revealed an alleged tex message from Bryan to LaPaglia, which accused Portnoy of trying to extort him for $12 million.
In the same episode, LaPaglia alleged she turned down a $12 million NDA from Bryan to not keep their relationship and the alleged behind-the-scenes drama quiet after they broke up.
Portnoy read aloud a text exchange — and posted a screen grab on the podcast — between LaPaglia and Bryan.
In it, Bryan kicked LaPaglia out of the living space they shared, and he allegedly wrote, “Dave Portnoy extorting [me] for 12 million dollars and threatening to make a song about me is definitely a change. Hahaha like I said you work for retarded people.”
Portnoy denied that.
“First of all, you can’t extort. This was their offer,” he said, referring to Bryan’s alleged $12 million offer to LaPaglia. “I was just being like either pay her or go away. I wasn’t like ‘$12 million or we’re coming for you.’ And Bri didn’t have anything to do with the diss track.”
Portnoy explained that he was going back and forth with LaPaglia at the time she allegedly received the NDA offer.
“Brianna was offered basically a payout, to sign an NDA to not talk about the breakup [and] things that happened and it’s a s–t ton — $12 million bucks is what it ended up being,” he said. “And I was going back and forth with her a lot.”
LaPaglia explained that she had no interest in Bryan’s money.
“It was never about the money. I was with the dude because I loved the dude,” she said. “Everything glamorous, rich or f–king cool about him was the s–t I hated about him or I hated being with him for.”
LaPaglia claimed Bryan was emotionally abusive to her in their one year relationship.
