The Los Angeles Rams having Aaron Donald and Myles Garrett on the same defensive line is a nightmare scenario for opposing teams.
But this nightmare isn’t inserting itself into San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy’s sleep schedule.
Purdy was speaking to the media on Tuesday morning when a reporter asked, “The fact that the Rams have Myles Garrett and Aaron Donald, what’s your sleep score currently?”
The 49ers’ quarterback laughed before replying, “I’m still at eight hours.
“It’s a great question. But yeah, obviously those guys playing together and stuff, they’re really good players. It’s gonna be fun to go up against them,” Purdy added, per CBS Sports’ Matt Lively.
Purdy can continue to sleep soundly, as news broke on Tuesday that Donald won’t be making the trip to Australia with his team. The team has decided to give the three-time AP Defensive Player of the Year more time to ramp-up after being retired for the past two seasons.
Even if Purdy wasn’t letting the Donald and Garrett tandem impact his sleep before this news, the same couldn’t necessarily be said for the 49ers’ offensive line.
The O-line is the perceived weakness for San Francisco’s offense. And if 2025 taught us anything, it is that Garrett is good enough by himself to wreck anyone’s game plan.
