Season 22 of Grey’s Anatomy is coming to an end — and Camilla Luddington is promising several cliffhangers in the final episode.
“There are so many cliffhangers, actually, in the finale,” Luddington, 42, exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting her partnership with Get’Ems and their new Squeezies product. “That’s what we do.”
Luddington, who plays Jo, teased that the conclusion will make sure fans come back “next season,” adding, “There’s a lot.”
As Grey’s Anatomy viewers remember, season 21 concluded with a hospital explosion that left Us on the edge of our seats. Looking ahead at the season 22 finale, Luddington promised similar twists.
“It’s a really big finale. We have someone from Station 19 showing up. Danielle is back with us, which is really fun. It’s a lot of drama,” she continued. “For Jo in particular, she ends up at a crossroads in her career. She has some big career decisions to make in the finale.”
Grey’s Anatomy has also become known for its cast shakeups throughout the seasons. Luddington, meanwhile, has enjoyed trying to find loopholes for why Jo shouldn’t be on the chopping block — starting with her recently welcoming twins.
“I do play that game of like, ‘Listen, she almost died.’ I have those conversations too. I talked to our showrunner and I’ll ask her questions about the season. Sadly, they don’t give enough away for us,” she continued. “We are left wondering. But you know, I get to pitch stories too, which is really fun with her. Listen, I don’t think that you can ever consider yourself safe when you work at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.”
Despite the looming doom from season to season, Luddington is grateful that she gets to explore meaningful stories through Jo. Season 22 highlighted her character’s journey as a mother — and intuitive doctor.
“That is what our show does so well is it shows how messy motherhood can be,” she gushed. “She has four kids and we do a good job of showing that at times she’s just not OK. I know there’s a lot of Team Jo fans out there and I really appreciate that.”
Off screen, Luddington is juggling just as much as Jo when it comes to balancing her career and her home life, which is why she teamed up with Get’ems to introduce the ultimate snacking hack beloved by parents and kids.
Get’ems! Squeezies from Gerber are the new first-of-its-kind pouches that are designed to be enjoyed in two ways: smoothie mode or freezie mode. Perfect for kids and kids at heart, the Get’ems! Squeezies are a fit for school lunches or hot summer days with flavors including Cherry Limeade, Peach Apple Twist and Apple Sweet Potato Splash.
“I should preface by saying that I have two very fussy eating kids. They are 9 and 5 and they like different things all the time. That’s what’s really hard,” Luddington, who shares her kids with husband Matthew Alan, shared with Us. “I’m a busy mom on the go and so what I really have loved about it is it truly is a snack that they actually enjoy.”
She continued: “My son, Lucas, he really loves that smoothie mode so we keep them in the pantry. Then my daughter can have a freezie pop and grab it from the freezer. As a mom, you’re looking for those hacks in your day to make life a little bit easier where you’re not having to negotiate over snacks.”
Luddington was able to work with Alan on a fun video showing off the delicious pouches, adding, “My husband is 100 percent more likely to sneak a snack [while we film]. It was fun coming up with that idea.”
Get’ems! Squeezies are available at Walmart now and rolling out at additional grocery retailers nationwide throughout 2026.
Grey’s Anatomy airs on ABC Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET before streaming the next day on Hulu.
