The Dolphins’ already troubling season hit rock bottom on Sunday when star back De’Von Achane tore his ACL during a 24-10 defeat to Kansas City.
Fantasy football managers are scrambling to cope after spending premium draft capital—typically a late first or early second-rounder—on the Dolphins’ featured lead back.
He was coming off a monster campaign where he posted a career-best 1,838 yards from scrimmage alongside 12 touchdowns.
Following Tua Tagovailoa’s exit and a coaching overhaul, Achane was slated to be the focal point for Miami. Now his star-level production is missing on the field and across fantasy rosters.
Here are three immediate must-adds to help salvage Achane managers’ seasons.
Ollie Gordon, Dolphins (2 percent rostered, Yahoo)
This is the clearest pickup, as Gordon could take on a workhorse role going forward.
After Achane exited, Gordon stepped in and recorded 17 carries for 41 yards and a touchdown. Miami’s running back depth is limited: Jaylen Wright remains sidelined with a foot injury, and fullback DJ Herman is the only other backfield option.
Keep in mind that the Dolphins face a tough Vikings rush defense in Week 4.
Betting on the NFL?
Braelon Allen, Jets (18 percent)
Breece Hall suffered a thigh injury in the Jets’ 31-24 loss to the Lions and didn’t finish the game. Allen is positioned to take on Hall’s workload after being on the field for New York’s final two offensive drives.
If Hall is expected to miss time, Allen could go from a high-end handcuff to the lead back.
The Wisconsin product has registered 19 carries for 61 yards and a touchdown across three games.

Keaton Mitchell, Chargers (32 percent)
Make no mistake, Omarion Hampton remains Jim Harbaugh’s top back, but Mitchell made the most of his snaps in LA’s 24-16 loss to the Bills.
The former Raven logged eight carries for 52 yards and scored a touchdown for the Chargers.
Hampton is also coming back from a fractured ankle suffered in 2025, and if Mitchell continues to get goal-line work, he could be a perfect boom-or-bust option in both standard and PPR leagues.
