To get the best bang for your buck, you’ll want to strike when the iron — or, in this case, sale price — is hot.

But when is the prime time to shop on Prime Day?

According to The Post’s Victoria Giardina, a commerce journalist and content strategist, “deals are always subject to change” during Amazon Prime Big Deal Days.

When does October Prime Day end?

The two-day discount bonanza in October, the second Prime deal event of the year, runs from Tuesday, Oct. 8, to Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Giardina highlighted the BISSELL Little Green Multi-Purpose Portable Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner as an example. The item was on sale leading up to Prime Day for $99 — and then dropped to a low of $81.99 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the OXO Good Grips Foldaway Dish Rack was previously on sale days ago for $34.99, but now is no longer available at the low sale price.

Do I need to be a Prime member to shop October Prime Day?

Just because something isn’t on sale for the first day of Amazon Prime Big Deal Days, which are exclusive to Prime members, doesn’t mean it won’t be available for a deal on the second day. Conversely, products might be available to purchase on super sale the first day, but full price the next — or, worse, they sell out.

Amazon also offers Lightning Deals — or short-lived sales on particular items that are only available for a few hours at most.

“Keep tabs on the product category or product you’re shopping for, use your best judgment, like we do, and don’t let crossed-out prices and red percentage signs fool you,” Giardina said.

“Sometimes, a 20% off deal on a high-ticket item is much better than a 50% off deal on a $10 shampoo.”

If you’re wondering what makes a good deal, then, The Post’s P.J. McCormick, a deals writer and reporter, previously shared that he is “excited” by a product or service going for more than 35% off.

That being said, he also advised shoppers to heed customer reviews, compare prices with other online retailers and try to find the best deals on more expensive products, like TVs, air conditioners, Apple devices and more.

Prime Big Deal Days vs. Prime Day

The only real difference between the sales bonanzas, as McCormick explains, is the month in which they take place.

Positioned closer to Christmas than its July predecessor, Prime Day, Amazon’s current Prime Big Deal Days offer a fantastic opportunity to start your holiday shopping early.

For this week’s sales, the Post Wanted team has compiled some of the best discounts on fan-favorite products from the week’s sale and updates their running list throughout the Amazon Prime Big Deal Days.

“Amazon likes to keep us on our toes, and the Post Wanted shopping team is employed here to cut out the guesswork for you by updating our content to reflect the very best prices,” Giardina said.
