Disneyland visitors looking to trade churros for Beef Wellington are in luck.

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay officially opened The Carnaby at Downtown Disney Monday, introducing a British-inspired restaurant that puts a London twist on the popular shopping and dining district.

The new restaurant is the latest collaboration between Ramsay and the team behind Earl of Sandwich, with The Carnaby occupying the space above the longtime sandwich shop, according to KTLA.

Inspired by London’s iconic Carnaby Street during the swinging 1960s, the restaurant pairs British cuisine with colorful artwork, a vibrant mural and a soundtrack packed with classic British hits. The space seats about 175 guests and includes indoor dining, private event areas and an outdoor terrace overlooking Downtown Disney.

The menu features several of Ramsay’s signature dishes, including Beef Wellington, fish & chips served with triple-cooked fries and his famous sticky toffee pudding. Traditional comfort foods such as Bangers & Mash and Cottage Pie also make an appearance alongside globally inspired entrees like Branzino, chicken Milanese and chickpea Tikka Masala.

Burger fans can order the Carnaby Wagyu Burger, topped with smoked cheddar, thick-cut bacon, baby gem lettuce and truffle aioli.

Families aren’t left out, either. The children’s menu includes favorites such as a smashed cheeseburger, grilled cheese sandwich, chicken tenders and mac and cheese, with the option to add ice cream for dessert.

Ramsay said his toughest critics are already built into his own household.

“We’re lucky we have six amazing kids and they’re like our little tryouts because every time we develop a new dish it always goes to the kids first,” the chef said in an interview with Disneyland. “When you see them devouring it within seconds we know it’s going to be a hit at The Carnaby.”

One of the restaurant’s standout experiences is a tableside Prime Rib Cart, where hand-carved slices are served with Yorkshire pudding, roasted vegetables and au jus.

Guests can also choose from a lineup of specialty cocktails, including the Passionfruit Royale and Cherry Baby, in addition to wine and beer offerings.

Ramsay said opening a restaurant at Downtown Disney had long been on his wish list.

“Downtown Disney has always been a dream,” Ramsay divulged. “We’ve worked with Disney for many years. This place is unique and the history here is incredible.”

For now, The Carnaby is serving dinner nightly from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. during its soft-opening period. Breakfast and lunch service are expected to be added in the coming months.
