Talk about dropping the Puck.
A Southern California neighborhood favorite is skating into Las Vegas and taking over Wolfgang Puck’s former Downtown Summerlin sports bar.
Finney’s Crafthouse will make its first move outside California this September, opening in the former Wolfgang Puck Players Locker space, the company announced Thursday.
The sports-focused restaurant and bar will open at 10955 Oval Park Drive in The Dining Arroyo.
“Las Vegas has one of the most passionate sports cities with some of the best fans in the country, and we can’t wait to be part of it,” co-owner Greg Finefrock said in a statement.
Twin brothers Greg and Brad Finefrock founded Finney’s in 2016 and have since grown the brand to 16 locations across Southern California. Its name comes from their high school nickname, the “Finney brothers” — a play on Finefrock, pronounced “Finney-frock.”
Local Las Vegas insider VitalVegas noted the “awkward” circumstances surrounding its arrival, pointing out on X that Finney’s is replacing Puck’s “quietly shuttered” restaurant.
Players Locker opened in February 2020 in place of the former Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill, offering Golden Knights fans an upscale sports bar with leather seating and glass lockers for storing their booze, according to Eater.
Puck’s restaurant group planned to transform the shuttered spot into an off-Strip version of its longtime Italian restaurant Lupo, but the proposed replacement never materialized.
Finney’s will now bring 20 HDTVs, 30 rotating craft beers and more than 50 scratch-made dishes to the 245-seat space just steps from Las Vegas Ballpark — home of the Triple-A Las Vegas Aviators, an affiliate of the Athletics.
Its menu will include mahi mahi tacos, pepperoni pizza, buffalo cauliflower and an A6 Wagyu burger loaded with ribeye, pepper jack, bacon and crispy onions.
The bar will also serve 18 signature cocktails made with fresh-squeezed juices
The chain is already preparing to double down on Southern Nevada, with a second Finney’s scheduled to open in the Las Vegas Valley later this year.
