What does Tyrone Tracy have in store for an encore?
With the Giants’ top offensive weapon, rookie receiver Malik Nabers, out with a concussion and starting running back Devin Singletary out with a groin injury, the Giants’ rookie running back had a career day against the Seahawks last Sunday.
He rushed for 129 yards on 18 carries, a 7.2-yard average.
With Singletary listed as questionable for Sunday night’s game against the Bengals at MetLife Stadium, this could be a big game for Tracy again.
“I want to prove that this isn’t just a one-time thing,’’ Tracy told The Post on Friday. “I want to prove that I can go out there and have another good game. I don’t really have any expectation based off of my last game. I’m going on the same mindset of whatever opportunities I get, I’m just going to try to take full advantage.’’
Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas praised Tracy’s performance against Seattle.
“He did a good job in a tough environment of knowing his keys and not just running the ball but in protection,” Thomas said Friday.
“He ran it really well, had a hell of a game, somewhat of a coming-out party,” Giants receiver Darius Slayton said Friday. “But obviously, it’s a week-to-week league, so he has another chance this week to go out there and show he’s got.
“We know what type of player he is, but every game is its own game. So, you never know how it’s going to manifest itself. I expect his talent to show just like it did last week again this week.”
In non-Nabers injury news, punter Jamie Gillan turned up on the injury report Friday with a hamstring issue that limited him in practice and he’s listed as questionable for Sunday’s game.
This brings back bad memories of Giants kicker Graham Gano seemingly fine entering the Washington game then turning up lame in pregame, leaving the Giants to play the game without a kicker.
They lost 21-18 after having to go for two-point conversions after touchdowns.
It’s not known whether the Giants may bring an emergency punter in on Saturday in case Gillan’s hamstring issue doesn’t clear up.
Brian Daboll indicated that CBs Adoree’ Jackson (calf) and Dru Phillips (calf and shoulder) “are going good.”
He said the corners are “ahead” of Singletary, who’s questionable and said Friday he was in a “gray area” in terms of his availability.
WR Bryce Ford-Wheaton, who returned the blocked punt for a touchdown Sunday in Seattle and didn’t practice Thursday with a shoulder injury, is listed as questionable for the game.
Guard Jon Runyan Jr., who missed the past two days with an illness, returned to practice Friday and is expected to play Sunday.
DL D.J. Davidson, who was on Thursday’s injury report as a limited participant with a shoulder injury, will play.
LB Brian Burns (groin) was limited in practice but is expected to play Sunday.
