The NFC South is getting the Monday Night Football spotlight tonight.

At 8:15 p.m., Michael Penix Jr.’s 1-2 Atlanta Falcons will take on Tyler Shough’s 1-2 New Orleans Saints in a Week 4 “Domecoming” game at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome that will determine which divisional rival returns to .500 and which sinks to 1-3.

“These are important games,” said Saints head coach Kellen Moore ahead of the contest. “[Atlanta] has an explosive offense that can make big plays at any moment. Their defense…[plays] really aggressive and they try and attack the football.”

Ahead of this matchup, New Orleans suffered a heartbreaker against the ascendant Las Vegas Raiders in Week 3 but saw an impressive four-touchdown showing from Shough.

As for their opponents, Atlanta redeemed themselves last Sunday after starting 0-2 when they stomped on the Packers behind a dominant showing from star running back Bijan Robinson who rushed for 194 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries.

According to The Post, “the Falcons are 2.5-point underdogs in New Orleans for a game that looks like an absolute shootout between two of the NFL’s most high-profile offenses…I like the Falcons to win outright.”

In regard to “Domecoming,” the event will observe the 20-year anniversary of the Saints returning to play the Falcons at the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina. Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will headline tonight’s halftime show with special guests Eric Church, Kirk Franklin, Juvenile, Cyril Neville and Ivan Neville.

For the record, Drew Brees and the Saints won the 2006 “Domecoming” 23-3 over Michael Vicks’ Falcons thanks to Steve Gleason’s well-remembered blocked punt. In a full-circle moment, Gleason will be honored at the game tonight.
