A model has called out the backlash to a video of herself showing off her outfit, which involved her ditching her bra to complete the look.
Bianca Krigovsky, a petite curve model based in Brisbane, recently shared a video of her lip synching and dancing around her room on social media.
In the clip, she was wearing the $89.95 [$61 USD] Billy J Frances Maxi Dress, which is a plisse sleeveless dress with a high neckline.
However, the 26-year-old opted to ditch wearing a bra due to the essentially backless nature of the ensemble.
And people had something to say about it in the comment section when she shared the video on Instagram.
Ms Krigovsky said “the internet lost their minds” over the post and while her TikTok community was “super supportive”, Instagram was a less kind place.
“The women came for me about the lack of bra situation, so I thought we’d go through some of the nice comments that go me through this tough time,” she joked.
One person commented: “Your Honour, they looked at me first.”
Another said: “You can tell which ones had mums that taught them at home and which ones didn’t.”
She said that particular comment made her giggle for a while.
Another social media user said they couldn’t believe the video was “10 hours long” and another said if they had a chest like Ms Krigovsky, they’d wear anything braless — a particular favourite for the model.
One said it was refreshing to see someone look natural compared to “the plethora of implants and cosmetic improvements we’re flooded with”.
Another simply said: “Put a bra on.”
But, at the end of the day, Ms Krigovsky said the moral of the story was that people are reading the comments on their posts.
“If you wanna share the love, please do that. But if you don’t have anything nice to say, please scroll on,” she said.
“I’m lucky, I have a really good sense of self so when people write mean things it’s OK. I can handle it but someone else might not feel the same.”
She said we needed to help each other out, and she is not being helped out by people drawing attention to a flaw that she is likely already aware of.
“So, support me or scroll on. Do not come on here and spread hate. That’s not who you wanna be. That’s embarrassing, it’s 2024,” she said.
And, people in the comment section were quick to do just that, with many praising Ms Krigovsky for not only her outfit but her stance.
“Girl I don’t know who you are but you look breathtaking,” one person commented.
Another said: “Instagram is a cesspool of negativity. You look gorge!!!!!”
“The haters must just be jealous because you are literally jaw dropping omg gorgeous,” one said.
“Say it louder for the people at the back,” another added.
