Jennifer Hudson has never tied the knot, but could that change with boyfriend Common?

“People automatically always assume that women just want to be married and that is not always the case,” Hudson, 45, told Keke Palmer during the Tuesday, October 22, episode of the “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer” podcast.

The Dreamgirls actress revealed, “This is the only person, where I’m like, you know what, actually I would consider that with him.”

Hudson confessed, “But have I been that type of person who wanted to be in that space? No. I have never been married but in this relationship, I’m like, you know what, OK.”

While the Oscar winner — who shares son David Jr., 17, with ex-fiancé David Otunga — admitted she’s not totally sold on the idea of marriage, she said her relationship with Common (real name Lonnie Rashid Lynn), 54, is “amazing.”

“It’s been beautiful,” Hudson said of this season of love. “I think the timing is amazing. … Yeah, it’s love.”

The Jennifer Hudson Show host noted that her perspective on love has changed since she was in her 20s, saying when you’re young you “have that ideal” but it’s not centered in reality.

“But once you experience all of that you have more clarity and understanding of what love really is and what you really want out of it,” Hudson shared. “That is the space and place that I am in.”

Hudson and Common sparked dating rumors in 2022 but didn’t confirm their romance until January 2024 when the Grammy winner appeared on her talk show.

Common walked on stage carrying flowers for Hudson and she asked him whether he was single because “everybody wants to know.”

“I’m in a relationship that is with one of the most beautiful people I’ve met in life,” Common told her at the time. “She’s smart, she loves God, she has something real down to earth about her. She’s talented.”

Common proceeded to list off all the qualities he needs in a girlfriend, all of which matched the EGOT winner.

Later that month, Common revealed he is “a marrying type” when asked on Today With Hoda & Jenna if Hudson could be “The One.”

Common doubled down on his comments during a July 2024 appearance on “The Breakfast Club” show, revealing, “If I’m going to get married, it’s to her. That’s [as] simple as that.”

He gushed, “This is definitely — with all due respect to all the women I’ve dated ’cause it’s all love — but this is a really healthy and beautiful relationship.”

Prior to his relationship with Hudson, Common was linked to Tiffany Haddish, Erykah Badu, Serena Williams and Taraji P. Henson. Common shares one child, daughter Omoye Assata Lynn, 29, with ex Kim Jones.

Hudson, meanwhile, got engaged to Otunga, 46, September 2008. The pair welcomed their only child in August 2009 and announced their split in November 2017.
