Bill Belichick’s North Carolina squad came this close to beating the No. 1 team in the nation.
But it appeared that there was one notable absence in Chapel Hill.
Jordon Hudson seemed to skip the 38-35 loss for the Tar Heels, or at the very least was not seen on the game broadcast or in photos inside Kenan Memorial Stadium.
TMZ first reported on Friday night that the 25-year-old Hudson and Belichick, 74, are no longer dating and actually ended their relationship at some point last year.
A source told TMZ and People that Hudson and Belichick, despite their breakup, are “committed to their business partnerships and remain close friends.”
Both outlets also reported that Hudson is seeing other people.
Despite the couple reportedly ending things last year, Hudson and Belichick held hands at the 2026 Kentucky Derby in May. Hudson has appeared at multiple North Carolina football games this season, including two weeks ago when the Tar Heels knocked off rival Duke on the road in Durham.
The two were seen walking off the field together, all smiles.
The reported breakup apparently was news to two UNC staffers who told USA Today on Friday night that they were unaware of the relationship’s end.
Unranked North Carolina held its own against Hurricanes and held leads in the third and fourth quarters.
After falling behind by 10 points in the final minutes of the fourth, UNC cut the deficit to three points but committed two penalties during onside kick attempts before failing to recover a third try. Belichick’s team fell to 4-4 and 2-3 in ACC play.
