DALLAS — The Liberty experienced significant travel delays Wednesday en route to Dallas, where they are scheduled to play the Wings on Thursday night.
Rookie Pauline Astier shared the travel disruption on her Instagram story around 10:25 p.m. ET, saying the team had been stranded on the tarmac for 10 hours.
“10h après toujours sur le tamarac,” she wrote while sharing a photo of her sitting on the plane alongside developmental player Marine Fauthoux.
That translates to “10 hours later, still on the tarmac.”
The Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground stop Wednesday afternoon at DFW International Airport and Dallas Love Field, effectively pausing departing and arriving flights as a storm hit North Texas.
Severe thunderstorms in the New York area also caused flight delays Wednesday.
The Liberty also experienced some plane issues, a source said.
New York canceled Thursday morning’s shootaround and is scheduled to play the Wings at 9 p.m.
The Liberty are midway through a four-game road trip.
They lost in Minnesota Saturday and to the Toronto Tempo in Montreal Sunday before returning home for a few days.
They have the Wings up next before traveling to play the Indiana Fever for Saturday night’s meeting.
