The White Sox, who lost catcher Kyle Teel to injury, are among teams targeting Luis Torrens, the standout Mets backup catcher. However, the Mets are very reluctant to deal Torrens, who’s one of the game’s best defensive catchers, if not the best.

The Mets understandably love Torrens, and since he’s locked up for next season at $4.75M, they’d like him to be part of their 2027 solution.

The Dodgers are best equipped to trade for Tigers superstar Tarik Skubal — if he’s dealt — since LA has nine top 100 prospects.

For today, anyway, the Dodgers are telling folks they feel confident Blake Snell and Shohei Ohtani will be back on the mound soon, and also believe Tyler Glasnow will be back, too, and that they don’t need another top starter. But rivals still understandably fear them jumping in if Skubal’s available.
