Pete Alonso will be returning to the Home Run Derby after all.

Hours after being announced as the Mets’ lone representative at the All-Star Game next week, Alonso revealed in an Instagram post that he’ll also be participating in the Home Run Derby — which he has already won twice.

Alonso’s post on Instagram contained a television surrounded by a flame as clips from past appearances and wins at the Derby — as well as other Mets highlights — played on the screen.

He won back-to-back titles at the event in 2019 and 2021, with the Derby canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19, and he was eliminated by the Mariners’ Julio Rodriguez for a second consecutive year during the 2023 Home Run Derby in Seattle.

Alonso has collected 18 homers for the Mets this season, and he has launched 210 of them across his six-year career in the majors.
