Micah Parsons’ off-the-field pursuits may not be resonating well with Cowboys teammates.

While appearing on the “All Facts No Brakes” podcast with former Pro Bowl receiver Keyshawn Johnson, Dallas safety Malik Hooker chimed in on Parsons’ podcasting hobby.

“My advice would be for Micah, it would be: Just make sure we’re all right, and being where your feet are,” Hooker said on June 27. “Because if we’re out working, and the run game’s terrible but you’re doing a podcast every week — and you know the run game is terrible — then what are you really caring about? Are you caring about the crowd that’s watching your podcast, or are you caring about the success of our team, and the Super Bowl that we’re trying to reach?”

Parsons began “The Edge with Micah Parsons” podcast in 2023 and was named the president of Bleacher Report’s Gridiron division, which focuses on the company’s football creative content, in May.

The All-Pro edge rusher didn’t seem content with Hooker’s words, nor how he shared them.

“Just wish you said this to me but instead on some podcast!” Parsons wrote in a since-deleted tweet, as reported by the The Dallas Morning News. “And you got my number family! And you my locker mate! So you coulda said this any day! And you do realize I shoot the podcast on our off day! Why ain’t we talking about everyone preparations and focus.”

Hooker then offered his own reply, seeming to extinguish the budding flames by calling Parsons his “Little Bro” and saying “His Podcast Isn’t Hurting Nothing.”

Parsons has been one of the NFL’s best defenders since he entered the league in 2021, racking up 40.5 sacks and 51 tackles for loss, each ranking fourth in that span.

Meanwhile, the 28-year-old Hooker has spent the last three years in Dallas after playing his first four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts.

The edge rusher and safety became quite familiar communicating with one another this past year, with each starting 15 or more games for the Cowboys.

Parsons, edge rusher DeMarcus Lawrence and cornerback DaRon Bland spearheaded a fierce Dallas defense that ranked fourth in expected points added per play last season.

Despite Dallas’ efficiency and production on both offense and defense, the team dropped its playoff opener to the Green Bay Packers in the NFC divisional round, only adding more fodder for critics who relish the team’s postseason woes.

Because of his media ventures, Parsons has been especially prevalent this offseason.

The 25-year-old has regularly collaborated with Texans superstar quarterback C.J. Stroud, with the two even participating in sumo wrestling in Japan, plus offering insight during the 2024 NFL Draft.

On top of that, Parsons received blowback from the baseball community after claiming he could bat between .180 and .200 during a full MLB season.

With training camp starting in just three weeks, Parsons will have a fresh opportunity to clear the air a bit — including potentially hashing things out with Hooker.
