The NFL wasn’t a fan of Derek Carr’s Michael Jackson-like touchdown celebration last weekend.

The Saints quarterback was fined $14,000 by the league commissioner’s office for grabbing his crotch after reaching the end zone during New Orleans’ 44-19 win over the Cowboys in Week 2, according to Pro Football Talk.

Before being handed down the fine, Carr was quite proud of his performance after crossing the pylon.

“I’m a dancer in my day,” Carr said during his postgame press conference on Sunday. “Don’t let the four kids fool you. I had to lure their mama in somehow.”

Carr’s brothers had been pushing him to show off some of his moves, he said.

“People don’t know a lot of stuff about me,” Carr told ESPN. “…Weddings or birthdays, I’m always dancing. One time I hit the Michael Jackson and [my brothers] were like ‘Bro, you have to do that if you score.’”

It’s the second time the 11-year veteran has been punished by the NFL.

In October 2020, Carr was fined $15,000 when he was a Raider after attending an event for Darren Waller’s charity foundation without wearing a COVID-19 mask.

Carr has had every reason to dance through two weeks of the NFL season.

The Saints are currently 2-0, scoring at least 44 points in both games and 91 total, which leads all teams.

Carr has thrown for 443 yards, five touchdowns and just one interception with an NFL-best 96.6 quarterback rating.

Carr and the Saints will host the Eagles on Sunday at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
