Talk about going down in flames.

A nervous passenger was convinced her plane was going down when flight attendants began handing out a very peculiar object to travelers.

The Polish woman, Jula Vadini, who was traveling to San José Del Guaviare in Colombia, captured a TikTok video of the moment the flight crew began passing out electronic candles throughout the plane.

Confused, she made the sign of the cross, and she blurted out, “Are we dying?” on the clip seen almost two million times. It was just before frightening turbulence struck.

“I was now convinced they gave us candles because they knew we would crash,” she added over text.

Next, a pilot announcement in Spanish instructed passengers to pay “special attention” to further instructions.

“The language barrier really didn’t help me,” she wrote on Instagram.

Fortunately, Vadini’s flight landed without any true drama. She learned shortly after that there was a logical explanation for the candles as well.

“Turns out this is a Colombian tradition on the 7th December!” Vadini wrote.

“One candle = one wish !! How wholesome.”

December 7 is the Catholic Feast of the Immaculate Conception and is celebrated as the Day of Little Candles, or Día de las Velitas in the South American country.

“They could have done a better job at explaining the reason for it,” one commented.

“LOL I would totally freak out too,” added another.
