The Kansas City Chiefs won again, and this time it wasn’t dramatic — but it may come with a cost.

Patrick Mahomes limped off with an ankle injury following a nasty collision on a failed fourth down with less than eight minutes to go in the game.

Mahomes was subbed out for Chiefs backup and former Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback Carson Wentz, who went 2-for-2 passing in his cameo.

Mahomes also appeared to be on his way to receiving X-rays following the contest, in which the Chiefs beat the Browns 21-7, according to the Kansas City Star.

“It’s not broken, it’s sore,” Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told reporters after the game of Mahomes’ ankle.

The Chiefs starter finished his outing an unspectacular 19-for-38 with 159 passing yards and two touchdowns as his team improved to 13-1, still in first place in the AFC.

The Chiefs have a slightly shorter week as they host the Texans on Saturday before heading to Pittsburgh on Christmas Day.
