The Ellery, a luxury residential tower at 312 W. 43rd St., signed a tasty tenant. Popular Franklin Park, NJ, Indian restaurant and lounge Samudhra signed a lease for about 10,000 square feet, its first location in Manhattan.
The mixed-use building was developed by Taconic Partners and National Real Estate Advisors, who wanted a major eatery in the project. Taconi senior vice-president George Tsapelas said, “Our vision has been to create a dynamic mixed-use destination that contributes to the energy of the area, and Samudhra further strengthens the retail and dining mix we’ve curated at the property.”
The landlord was represented by CBRE’s Lon Rubackin, Michael Kadosh, and Bevan Cohen. Samudhra was repped by Brad Schwarz of Lee & Associates.
The restaurant will be on the Ellery’s West 43rd Street side. The 33-story tower’s taller portion stands above West 42nd Street. All 330 units were rented within 11 months, boasts tenants’ amenities that include a rooftop pool and fitness center. Fast-growing grocery chain ALDI opened its first Midtown store there in June
