WASHINGTON — Hopefully, it had hand sanitizer inside.
Republicans’ official Senate campaign arm needled lefty Maine Senate hopeful Graham Platner over recent revelations about his Reddit musings about loving the smell of porta-potties and using them to pleasure himself.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) rolled out a quick AI spot showing a man looking like Platner entering a porta-potty, but stopped short of showing anything more than that.
The spot ends with a child leaving one of the adjacent toilets — to underscore how gross his admitted behavior was.
“This is who Graham Platner is. Don’t ignore the signs,” the NRSC chided on X with the short spot.
Last week, a bizarre Reddit post from Platner in March 2017 under the “P-Hustle” username that has been traced back to him, revealed his questionable relationship with porta-potties.
At the time, he was riffing on an r/Military forum post that asked fellow vets: “What are some familiar scents that bring you back to reality or nostalgia?”
“I still have to j–k off every time I sit in a portashi—er….that blue water smell conditioned me,” Platner, replied.
His post was first reported by Fox News but has since been verified by The Post using the PullPush search tool that has archived posts from him that had been mass-deleted.
Graham is the presumptive Democratic nominee for the Maine Senate seat currently held by incumbent Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine).
Collins is widely regarded as the most vulnerable incumbent Republican senator, but she has defied political gravity in her home state in past elections. Maine Gov. Janet Mills (D), Graham’s top Democratic primary foe, dropped out of the race last month. The primary race is slated for June 9.
A darling of the progressive left, Graham has enjoyed the backing of big-name left-wing backers such as Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.)
Other critics of Graham had leveraged artificial intelligence to create more biting video clips of a digital version of him entering a porta-potty.
Throughout his campaign, the Marine veteran and oyster farmer has faced a slow drip of revelations about his wild Reddit history.
This includes musings about graffiti of men’s genitalia he had seen during his world travels, defending soldiers urinating on dead Taliban soldiers, calling war “the most enjoyable experience,” and arguing that white Americans “actually are” racist and stupid.
Last week, it also emerged that Platner had mocked a Purple Heart soldier who was featured in wild helmet footage moving into the open to steer Taliban fire away from his fellow soldiers.
“This video never gets old. Dumb mother—er didn’t deserve to live. At least his stupidity and fat ass wheezing are available for all future infantrymen to witness and hold in contempt,” Platner said on his burner Reddit account years after the incident took place.
Platner has faced scrutiny over a tattoo that resembled a Totenkopf or “death’s head” symbol used by the Nazi SS. He claims to have gotten that ink in Croatia while inebriated in 2007 and denied knowing its Nazi links.
Since then, Graham inked over it with a “Celtic knot with some imagery around dogs.”
