Lisa Rinna is weighing in on the potential for a future documentary about the Real Housewives franchise.
“I think with Tyra [Banks] coming out with the America’s Next Top Model documentary, I think in a certain amount of time, something like that will come out around the Housewives,” Rinna, 62, said during the Tuesday, March 3, episode of Bustle’s “One Nightstand” podcast.
Banks, 52, who served as the creator, executive producer and host of America’s Next Top Model, recently appeared in Netflix’s documentary Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model, which explores the controversies of the modeling competition series, which aired from 2003 to 2018.
When asked whether Rinna would sit down for a tell-all documentary about Bravo, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum responded, “I don’t know about that. I don’t know if I would do that, but I think it’ll happen down the line. I think it’ll happen with everything, especially in reality television.”
Rinna starred on RHOBH from 2014 to 2022. She announced her exit from the reality series in January 2023.
“This is the longest job I have held in my 35-year career and I am grateful to everyone at Bravo and all those involved in the series,” Rinna told People at the time. “It has been a fun eight-year run and I am excited for what is to come!”
Rinna was widely credited with “saving” RHOBH with her casting, as it was met with a boost in ratings. Her time on the show was marked by multiple feuds with her fellow cast members, most notably Kim Richards. During season 5 in 2015, Richards, 61, hinted that she knew a secret about Rinna’s husband, Harry Hamlin, which caused Rinna to lunge across a table at Richards and smash a wine glass.
“I never identified with that person. I don’t know that person. I’ve never done anything like that in my life,” Rinna said of the infamous fight on Tuesday, adding of the aftermath, “The whole group of us was really devastated … life was never the same. That show was never the same when that happened. It changed everything.”
Rinna also clashed with Lisa Vanderpump, Kathy Hilton and Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen.
“I’m not somebody who likes conflict. That was one of those explosions of a moment that I could never have imagined,” Rinna said of her fight with Richards. “So, I have no idea who that person is. That person is a mama bear that was protecting her husband and her family, period. And she’d never come out, but boy, was I surprised.”
During an interview on Page Six Radio in February, Rinna said she “closed that chapter” and would not return to RHOBH.
“I think there was a bit of a black cloud over me for a while. And I think that can affect the entire family dynamic,” Rinna, who shares daughters Delilah, 27, and Amelia, 24, with Hamlin, 74, explained. “Once I got myself out of that situation, the cloud lifted for all of us. I really believe that.”
Rinna, who established an acting career on Days of Our Lives and Melrose Place long before her time on RHOBH, made her return to reality TV with The Traitors season 4, which concluded on February 26. Rinna was a Traitor alongside fellow Housewife Candiace Dillard Bassett and Love Island USA alum Rob Rausch, but she was banished from the castle after Rausch, 27, led the charge to get her out of the game.
“It’s the hardest job — anything I’ve ever done, hardest, on television. I don’t care — Broadway, Dancing With the Stars, this is the most challenging because it’s a game, physical, mental and psychological,” Rinna said during a recent event for her memoir, You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It, which was released in February.
