Sydney Sweeney’s cameo from The Devil Wears Prada 2 movie has reportedly been cut.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Sweeney, 28, filmed a scene in 2025 that would have appeared near the beginning of the film. The outlet, however, reported that it was a “creative decision” to nix the bit altogether.
The initial plan was to have journalist Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) reunite with her former Runway colleagues, Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) and Nigel Kipling (Stanley Tucci), to save the fashion magazine.
When enlisting the help of former Runway assistant Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt), the group discovered she now works as the head of Dior’s United States operation.
According to EW, one scene had Emily dressing a celebrity client, with Sweeney playing herself.
Us Weekly has reached out to reps for Disney and Sweeney for comment.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 team reportedly enjoyed working with Sweeney on the movie, making the decision to cut her scene a difficult one.
Back in August 2025, TMZ published photos of Sweeney arriving on the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2 in New York City. Her involvement with the project, however, remained tight-lipped for quite some time, especially after she showed up to the shoot in full incognito mode.
Although Sweeney may not be part of the highly anticipated sequel, several A-list stars are expected to make cameos when the film hits theaters later this month.
In the middle of her Mayhem Ball Tour, Lady Gaga found some time to film a cameo for The Devil Wears Prada 2 in Milan. Summer House alum Paige DeSorbo, America’s Got Talent judge Heidi Klum and supermodel Naomi Campbell are also rumored to be part of the special project.
Despite her absence from The Devil Wears Prada 2, Sweeney still has plenty of special projects worth celebrating.
In addition to working on her lingerie line called Syrn and partnering with American Eagle, Sweeney recently returned for Euphoria‘s third season, which debuted earlier this month on HBO.
“It’s been such a journey. It’s been my entire 20s,” Sweeney shared at Variety’s Power of Women ceremony in October 2025, when discussing her final episodes on Euphoria. “They’ve been my family and friends for so long. I’ve been forever grateful for all of them.”
She continued, “I was 20 when I did the pilot, so being able to see a lot of the same people, it feels very comforting.”
The Devil Wears Prada 2 premieres in theaters Friday, May 1.
