A teacher on TikTok is giving parents a sprinkle of advice for kids’ birthdays.

Ann Brackemyer, a kindergarten teacher in Illinois, went viral after explaining why she doesn’t like having cupcakes in her classroom.

The teacher, who goes by @kbcrayons on TikTok, said in the video with 2.4 million views that she loves celebrating students’ birthdays — but insists that bringing in cupcakes isn’t a great idea.

“I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion, but please don’t bring cupcakes,” she started. “These make a ginormous mess, and the kids honestly don’t eat them that great.”

She explained that the frosting “gets all over” and the kids “don’t know what to do.”

“It’s just too much for them, and it’s too messy.”

Instead, she suggests bringing frosted sugar cookies with sprinkles, donuts, ice cream cups with sprinkles or any Little Debbie’s snacks — especially Cosmic Brownies, which are a favorite among kids.

As expected, some people took to the comments section to disagree.

“As a teacher, send whatever your kid wants,” one wrote.

“Is it your birthday? or theirs?” someone snarked.

“As a teacher the kids don’t care they’ll eat anything nor do we care we’ll clean them up keep the cupcakes coming cuz I want one,” another said.

However, others didn’t see anything wrong with the suggestions — and some threw in ideas of their own.

“My kids school no longer allows food as a birthday treats it’s now suggested if you want to bring anything, bring in trinket bags,” a user suggested.

“She’s giving suggestions..they all seem helpful i don’t get why yall are so upset,” another said.

“It’s definitely going to be an unpopular opinion but I’m a daycare teacher (I co teach our jr k program) and I’ve noticed the same thing cupcakes (unless mini) never get finished kids just get,” someone chimed in.
