Change here for anywhere.

Overseas travelers looking to get a handle on the local currency in their destination now have access to a convenient new tool to make life easier — and it’s built right into every iPhone.

Gone are the days of having to Google every time you need to do a price check in a foreign supermarket or restaurant — the clever new timesaver, released along with a recent iOS 18 update, doesn’t even need data to function.

Avid adventurer Bianca Montalvo took to social media to talk up the smart shortcut, releasing a video on TikTok that quickly snagged more than 700,000 views.

“All you have to do is open up the calculator app on your phone and click the icon in the lower left hand corner,” Montalvo explained to viewers.

This easy move brings up a short menu — at the bottom, toggle on the “convert” option, choose the country you’re in (or are headed to) and watch the calculator magically begin to do the work.

“Your calculator is now a currency converter, allowing you to easily convert while traveling abroad without having to download another app,” the tech-y tripper explained.

Currency rates are known to fluctuate constantly, but don’t worry about using the tool offline, Montalvo assured — each time your phone connects to wifi or data, the rate will be updated automatically, she said.

Users can also lean on the app to convert things like miles to kilometers and pounds to kilograms, a commenter quickly pointed out.

“I was today years old when I learned this. Game changer!” another raved.

“They can not remove this app, we all have learned so much,” said one TikTokker, referring to the app’s uncertain future in the United States.

iPhone users were equally surprised earlier this week when helpful techies revealed a series of tricks for prolonging smartphone battery life, another must-know when traveling.

Background app refreshing plus toggling off some of the display features were all mentioned as easy ways to save juice while jetsetting.
