Much like anyone who is in the dating scene, I have a set of questions I ask on a first date. This includes “What do you do for work? What are your hobbies?” and “What cologne do you wear?” For those wondering, that last one is the most important, in my opinion. I believe that signature scents can say a lot about a person, and if men are wearing Chanel Bleu or Dior Sauvage (two of the most well-known yet incredibly basic colognes around) I know it won’t work in the long run. Hear me out: I want someone who has taken the time to experiment with scent, discovered what speaks to him and has ventured past what his mother first gifted him years ago.

To be honest, it’s rare for men to impress me with their cologne. However, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this one guy I went on a single date with months ago. Or, well, let me rephrase that: I haven’t stopped thinking about his fragrance. He was wearing Diesel Bad Eau de Toilette, a scent that I had never heard of before — and it made a major impact. I became completely enamored with the rich, masculine aroma, and he’s the only person I know who wears it (sad!).

The notes in Diesel Bad are nothing short of luxurious. It starts with a bright burst of citrusy bergamot before deepening with caviar and sage, which gives the cologne a salty, earthy tinge. It reminds me of how a man smells after a riveting nature hike (minus the BO, of course). My favorite part is the dry down that smells woody, rich and surprisingly sweet, courtesy of tonka bean, tobacco and patchouli. As Bad wears throughout the day, it becomes warmer and cozier, developing into an addictive scent that conjures up feelings of security and seduction.

If love potions are real, I’m convinced this is the most potent concoction.

For such an attention-grabbing and long-lasting scent, I’m pleasantly surprised by the price. At under $100 Bad is incredibly affordable. If you ask me, more men should be taking advantage of this cologne. It flies relatively under the radar, although those who have found Bad mention that the compliments never stop rolling in.

“God Bless Diesel Bad Eau de Toilette, girls love its scent,” one happy shopper writes. Another reviewer jokes, “It’s bad, don’t buy it. I don’t want it to go out of stock haha. Been using this and this only for 5 years.”

Whether you’re looking for a new masculine scent or are hoping to upgrade your significant other’s cologne collection, Diesel Bad is a scent you don’t want to skip over. You can thank me later.
