Travis Hunter is off the ‘gram.
Colorado’s two-way star sparked headlines Monday after deactivating his Instagram account amid a tidal wave of criticism that has recently engulfed his fiancée, Leanna Lenee.
Lenee has been at the center of online vitriol following Hunter’s Heisman Trophy win on Dec. 14, with her demeanor at a fan event being heavily scrutinized on social media.
The ridicule has continued from there.
An older video that seemed to feature Lenee resurfaced early Monday and appeared to show her dancing on another man.
TMZ reported Monday “it’s believed to be a clip taken from several years ago — before [Lenee] and Hunter got together.”
Hunter, whose engagement to Lenee was revealed earlier this year, recently backed his fiancée in a Twitch livestream after the Heisman ceremony, stating she got drunk and cried herself to sleep in the wake of the hate.
“You ain’t never had no girl so why are y’all talking about me,” the wide receiver and cornerback for the Buffaloes said. “Find someone else to talk about … Go talk about your girl. Go find a girl. Go find a life. Stop worrying about what I got going on. I know what I got.
“My girl been with me for five years. y’all are just now starting to talk about me … y’all go do something else with y’all life. Clickbait pages stop, y’all better stop I’m telling y’all. Something bad is gonna happen to y’all [if you] keep doing that. Y’all better stop that. I ain’t playing.”
Hunter, 21, previously defended Lenee when the two were entangled in an awkward postgame moment last month.
Shortly after Colorado’s dominant 52-0 win over Oklahoma State, Hunter attempted to hug Lenee, who appeared to turn away.
“There’s a lot of stuff that could be happening in the stands, people don’t understand that,” Hunter said on a December episode of “The Pivot Podcast.”
“She might look irritated towards me, but at the same time, there’s a lot of stuff she deal with during the game. There’s a lot of stuff people don’t see off the camera.”
As the controversy has continued to mount, sports media personalities like Shannon Sharpe and Nate Burleson have weighed in on Lenee and Hunter’s relationship.
In recent comments to TMZ, Burleson said when one’s personal life is broadcast on a public platform, it’s subject to the commentary that comes with it.
“It’s everybody else’s business because that couple put it out there,” the former NFL receiver-turned-CBS analyst said.
“Can’t complain when people respond. That’s social media. You can’t say mind your own business or keep your opinion to yourself when you have shared with everybody.”
Hunter has the potential to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
