WASHINGTON — White House press secretary Katie Zacharia revealed Tuesday that President Trump decided to oust his embattled ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle.
“We have asked Ambassador Guilfoyle to resign,” Zacharia said at her first briefing since assuming the role as the US government’s top spokesman.
“She has been a wonderful asset to the team, and we wish her well.”
Guilfoyle, the ex-romantic partner of Donald Trump Jr. and the ex-wife of Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.), has been accused of improperly pressuring a donor to pay off a $100,000 credit card bill and mistreating staff.
