Knicks and Timberwolves fans got a little football with their basketball Thursday night.

A pair of fans were tackled by security for rushing onto the court during the second quarter of the Knicks’ blowout 133-107 win at Target Center.

A security official tackled one of the two fans onto the floor in front of Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns, who scored a game-high 32 points in his return to the Twin Cities and started down at the individual.

It all happened in a brief sequence with 2:34 remaining in the second quarter with the Knicks comfortably leading, 69-45.

The fans, dressed in shorts, sleeveless tops — a bold move for December in Minnesota — and headbands emerged from the third row and ran toward the court.

The trailing fan, wearing blue shorts, did not make it far with one official tackling her right on the sideline.

The security guard held her by her legs while she laid on the ground, with Towns eventually towering off her while she laid on her back.

The other fan, clad in orange, made it toward midcourt and ran in celebratory fashion, pumping her hands while she made her trek.

However, her journey did not last long and ended in embarrassing fashion after a security officer hit her from behind and pushed her to the ground.

Two other security officials ran to the scene and another two eventualy joined before they literally carried her by her arms and legs off the court.

It’s unknown — for now — why the fans ran onto the court.

Perhaps they were embarrassed by the Timberwolves’ pathetic play, with the home team being outscored 41-18 in the second quarter to all but put the game away.

Target Center has been host to these type of fan incidents before, with three Timberwolves playoffs games in 2022 being marred by fans running onto the court.

One fan even glued her hands onto the court.

Those run-ins stemmed from animal cruelty allegations against Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor.
