Thanksgiving is right around the corner, but Wawa is starting the holiday early.
Quick-stop chain Wawa, mainly located on the East Coast, has a very dedicated fanbase, and one of its limited-time sandwiches has an even bigger cult following — including celebrities like “Monsters” actor Evan Peters and retired NFL star Jason Kelce and his wife Kylie.
Every fall, the convenience store and gas station chain brings back its Gobbler Hoagie sandwich.
The fan-favorite, Thanksgiving-inspired hoagie consists of hot turkey, gravy, stuffing and cranberry sauce.
The sandwich allows customers to get a taste of turkey day before the holiday even begins, and they can get it in different variations, too.
“To heck with pumpkin spice everything … if there are Gobbler Bowls, IT IS FALL!!!” one fan raved in response to the store’s announcement on Instagram, with another thrilled customer exclaiming, “My favorite time of year!!!!”
Wawa’s Hot Gobbler has mashed potatoes, turkey and gravy, while the Hot Turkey Gravy has just that
Fans can also order the sandwich cold or as a bread-free Gobbler Bowl. People have even been known to chow down on the sandwich for breakfast.
The Gobbler was initially released in 2005 and was an instant classic, with customers rushing to get the sandwich with Thanksgiving leftovers.
If you search the hashtag #wawagobbler on Instagram, you’ll find many people offering their take on the Gobbler for inspiration for your next order.
For customers who want all the fixings and Thanksgiving foods, the Gobbler is fully customizable, so there’s no need to worry about missing out.
