The Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers are quite familiar with each other.

Over the course of the 2024 regular season, the AFC North foes met two times. Their first contest was a back-and-forth battle on Nov. 17 that resulted in an 18-16 home win for the Steelers. Russell Wilson completed 23-of-26 passes for 205 yards and an interception; interestingly every point scored by Pittsburgh in that contest was a field goal.

In the second interdivisional matchup, the Ravens roared back and defeated the Steelers 34-17 a little over a month later on Dec. 21 behind Lamar Jackson’s stellar three touchdown day. Derrick Henry ran for 162 yards and Zay Flowers caught five passes for 100 yards.

On Saturday, Jan. 11, they’ll meet one final time in a highly-anticipated AFC Wild Card showdown at Baltimore’s M&T Bank Stadium.

Mike Tomlin’s 10-7 Steelers come into the road game with a chip on their shoulder having dropped four in a row. As for their counterparts, the Ravens are firing on all cylinders netting four consecutive victories to close their 12-5 season. The only major roadblock they face now is whether or not star receiver Zay Flowers plays after suffering an injury in Baltimore’s week 18 win over the Browns.

“If the second-year wideout is inactive Saturday, tight ends Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely, and fellow receiver Rashod Bateman, often Jackson’s second option behind Flowers, figure to be more involved,” the New York Post reported.

About the Ravens vs. Steelers matchup

Since the Ravens’ inaugural 1996 season, Baltimore and Pittsburgh have met 62 times. Pre-Wild Card game, the Steelers have won 36 of those contests.

As noted above, the Ravens went 12-5 in the 2024 regular season. This year’s playoff berth marks their third in a row; following their solid season, nine players — Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, Patrick Ricard, Zay Flowers, Tyler Linderbaum, Nnamdi Madubuike, Roquan Smith, Marlon Humphrey, and Kyle Hamilton — were selected to the 2025 Pro Bowl.

While the Steelers dropped their last four, they mounted an impressive 2024 campaign behind Russell Wilson who came in after Justin Fields who led the team to an impressive 4-2 record to start the year. Their Pro Bowlers are Cameron Hayward, T.J. Watt, Minkah Fitzpatrick and Chris Boswell.
