With the trade deadline a month away, it probably shouldn’t be a shock that Jordi Fernandez’s current team and his former team are talking.
The Nets have had conversations with the Sacramento Kings, where Fernandez spent the prior two seasons as the associate head coach. And whether it’s Brooklyn gauging the cost for disgruntled All-Star De’Aaron Fox, or more likely fielding calls for their own highly-coveted wing Cam Johnson, there is smoke.
And whether it’s his input on a former player like Fox or anything else personnel-related, Fernandez has Brooklyn general manager Sean Marks’ ear.
As he should.
