Your “happily ever after” could start here — if you’re hungry enough.
A Boston sandwich shop, named Pauli’s North End, announced in honor of National Lobster Day, on September 25, they are selling $10,000 engagement Lobster rolls — presented with a 1-5/8 carat diamond atop 1.75 pounds of fresh lobster meat.
“The idea of filling the restaurant with friends and family and popping the question in the most Boston way ever seems like a fun idea,” restaurant owner Paul Barker said in a Masslive report.
The signature roll, known as the “USS Lobstitution,” is stuffed with 28 ounces of shellfish meat and served on a grilled long sub roll — and, on this special day, gets a certified, round-cut diamond halo engagement ring garnish. The sandwich itself can be purchased at the restaurant on any regular day for $99.99.
“28-ounces Knuckle and claw lobster meat, twist of lemon & mayo on a grilled long sub roll … Can you sink it?” the restaurant menu reads.
However, on this special day only, patrons can add a little razzle-dazzle to their sandwich for an extra $9,900.01. The price tag also includes closing down the restaurant for the couple and guests they invite.
Pauli’s North End, a four-generation family business, has orchestrated similar promotions in the past with burgers to maintain its local persona as the “outrageous, overstuffed sandwiches” restaurant.
“We actually put it out there a few years back as a burger, but we’re known for our lobster rolls so we’re hoping someone might be interested!” told The Post.
In an Instagram post revealing their upcoming promotion, interested diners shared their reaction if they received the engagement lobster roll.
“I mean I would say yes,” laughed one app user.
“Yes 100%,” added another.
“Our dream proposal,” the restaurant replied.
The restaurant requests interested customers to contact the establishment at [email protected] prior to the shellfish proposal on September 25 to secure Pauli’s diamond engagement lobster roll.
“We just put the word out, so no takers yet,” Barker confessed to The Post.
