It’s nacho average cookie.
Foodies on TikTok are cutting cookies into bite-sized triangles, then topping them off with a wide range of fixings that visually replicate a plate of loaded nachos.
The cookie “chips” are covered in whipped cream “sour cream,” chocolate chip “black beans,” maraschino cherry “tomatoes” and so on.
In recent years, the innovative concoction has gone viral, with more than 3.7 million posts on the platform.
Now, apparently inspired by the viral trend, Nestlé Toll House has launched a contest to win a cookie nachos kit, giving its fans a new way to create memories and connect with family and friends through a fun DIY, shareable dessert.
The packages — available for a limited time only via the contest — come with chocolate chip cookie dough, “chip-shaped” cookie cutters, three varieties of morsels (semi-sweet, premier white and butterscotch), a $25 gift card to purchase nacho toppings of your choosing and a recipe card.
“Connecting people over a shared plate of warm, freshly baked cookies has always been at the heart of our business,” Melanie Knoke, senior marketing manager of Nestlé Toll House, said in a statement about the “big, magical memories” that could ensue with the freshly baked goodies.
The launch of the kit competition is a nod to Nestlé Toll House’s partnership with NFL legend Peyton Manning and his wife Ashley, who know a thing or two about how to connect people over nachos, a favorite tailgating snack.
“Nestlé Toll House chocolate chip cookies hold special memories for me from my football career when my wife Ashley used to bake them for every training camp, and from special time spent with my family,” Peyton Manning said.
Fans can enter for a chance to win one of multiple kits that will be given away, no purchase necessary.
The contest runs through Dec. 5, National Cookie Day.
