The Olympics are stuffed with heartwarming moments — and this adorable viral dumpling is the perfect example.
Team Poland stepped up to the 2026 Winter Olympics with strong competitors in speed skating, snowboarding, skiing and figure skating, but only one of them is winning fans across the globe: a pierogi plushie.
The pierogi plushie — reportedly known as Pieroguszki, or “Little Pierogi,” according to My Modern Met — has been from event to event, celebrating with Polish athletes.
NBC Olympics & Paralympics even featured the beloved mascot on their official X account, writing, “Team Poland has a pierogi plushie that they bring around to events at the #WinterOlympics…and we just thought you should know that.”
The stuffie was first spotted in the hands of Polish ice skater Magdalena Tascher, seen waving it in the air to cheer on her team — even after they finished in 10th place out of 10. It’s the first time in history that Poland is participating in a team skating competition at the Olympics.
“The cute little guy has become a symbol of national pride, representing one of Poland’s most beloved traditional foods at the global stage,” Poland Explore wrote on Instagram. “This is what happens when culture meets Olympic spirit—pure wholesome content that reminds us why we love this country.”
For those wondering, the plushie is not a Squishmallow or a Jellycat, though it does look like it could be.
A workshop called Luft is where the beloved plush pierogis are made, and they thanked the team on Instagram for bringing the little guy along for the journey.
“You don’t even know (or you can guess) how touched and grateful we are with our whole dumpling team, to see how Dumpling traveled to the Games and won so many hearts from all over the world,” Luft wrote in the caption, per the translation.
Luft isn’t just a regular workshop. The Katowice-based organization runs craft workshops for people with disabilities, and they work on making different kinds of pierogis.
They noted that work has been suspended due to “the sick season,” but as soon as they return, they’ll be working to replenish the warehouse and get information out to those interested.
People across the world are looking to buy one of these cute pierogis.
“I’m in the USA & would love to buy one and support!” someone commented.
“Would love to buy one as a third-generation Polish immigrant in NYC!!” another begged.
“People in the US have been asking about your pierogis because they saw this picture at the Olympics. I hope you ship to US and get many orders,” one wrote.
At the time of reporting, the Pieroguszki are sold out on Luft’s website, but there are other places where fans get similar plushies and feel like they’re part of Team Poland.
One website called olympicspierogiplushie.com is offering the pierogi plush for $16.99 for a single one — and they’re also selling them in sets of two, three and four. There’s also a lookalike available at Walmart for $22.99.
Meanwhile, the Polish ice skating team is looking to name the pierogi plushie, asking people on Instagram for help. And they’re also trying to gift one to Snoop Dogg, who has somehow become an Olympic icon.
