It’s time to paint the city green, without spending tons of green.
Beers, burgers and baked goods at cut-rate prices are on the menu — at local and nationwide hotspots alike — in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day 2026, Tuesday, March 17.
Like pots of gold at the end of rainbows, major eateries are toasting the century-old Irish holiday with discounts and deals for revelers who are ready to kick up their heels, including the 150,000 marchers and 2 million spectators at NYC’s annual St. Patty’s Day parade.
And they’re not just river-dancing the day away.
Celebrants in the Big Apple and beyond are gearing up to eat, drink and be as merry as a leprechaun with his lucky charms, according to new data, from Numerator, a research firm.
Following a survey of 5,300 US consumers, the authorities found that food (61%), alcoholic beverages (48%), and decorations (35%) are the top intended purchases for this year’s extravaganza.
Beer is the most-beloved alcoholic beverage for St. Patrick’s Day drinkers (58%), with Irish beers such as Guinness or Smithwick’s favored by 44%, per the findings, which note that folks are hoping to save some dough while enjoying the festivities.
“Most shoppers plan to spend less than $100 in their celebrations of the holiday,” wrote study authors, noting the 46% of Patty partiers on the hunt for “promotions, sales and coupons” ahead of the big day. “Two-thirds of them expect rising prices to have an impact on their shopping, driving shoppers to seek more deals or shop at different retailers for better prices.”
