The Theater District is getting a new Rosa Mexicano restaurant that is slated to open in September.
It will be the beloved hotspot’s 10th location and its fourth in the Big Apple — and will include a new taqueria concept within its doors: The Pink Door by Rosa Mexicano. The upcoming launch comes 42 years after its initial opening by Lincoln Center in 1984.
“It’s a natural next chapter for us,” says Rosa Mexicano’s CEO Rich Zoob.
The eatery, at 120 W. 45th St. at Broadway, is 2,800 square feet with 107 seats. It will feature their famed, classic menu: tableside guacamole, tacos, enchiladas and fajitas. They are also incorporating their classic tequila, mezcal and agave-forward cocktails including a signature frozen pomegranate margarita.
The eatery will retain its look including the original “divers wall,” a two-story iridescent blue tile wall designed by David Rockwell and inspired by the cliff divers of Acapulco. The wall is 18 feet wide and over 6 feet tall.
The Pink Door by Rosa Mexicano, within the space, will be a first for the brand. It will include 57 seats for dining and to-go options including frozen margaritas and other cocktails.
