Members-only clubs meet fitness.
As wellness experiences replace traditional social gatherings in a growing movement called “daylife,” gyms and fitness studios are leaning into the moment and blending the two.
And one wellness mecca is continuing to blur the line between going out and working out with the launch of an exclusive social club that offers fitness classes, rooftop parties and spa access — and it’s got a growing waitlist already.
This week, Life Time has announced Life Time Social — or LT Social — a new, invite-only social club launching this month.
The exclusive community was created for “couples, singles and friends who want to meet others interested in a fit and active lifestyle,” per a press release.
Each month, they’ll host “curated social, wellness and entertainment experiences” at select locations across the country.
For example, the social club will kick off the weekend of September 12 and 13 at Life Time Sky in New York City, coinciding with two of the city’s biggest athletic and fashion events — the US Open and New York Fashion Week.
The invitation-only weekend will feature a DJed cocktail party on the Sky Deck. The following day, there will be a morning event including fitness classes, spa treatments, food and a recovery lounge, followed by a poolside party.
“Some of my favorite moments at Life Time go far beyond a workout,” Bahram Akradi, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Life Time said. “They’re the friendships formed after a class, the conversations that continue long after an event ends and the plans that come together because people found common ground.”
“LT Social builds on those connections, creating more opportunities to gather, explore and experience life together,” he added.
But not everyone can get in.
Although it will be included in regular gym membership costs, gym-goers who want to join the social club need to apply, with the brand saying a limited number of applicants will be invited.
Life Time did not share their criteria for who will make the cut.
With events set to take place in cities across the country — including New York, Miami, Chicago, Denver and Southern California — members will also be encouraged to book trips to participate.
“Over the years, members have asked for more ways to connect beyond their workouts and now we are,” Akradi added. “LT Social will create events worth getting on a plane for.”
