The Raiders have everything in their power to cull their fanbase. They have moved three times. They haven’t made the playoffs in five years. They haven’t won a playoff game in 24 years. And they entered Sunday on a four-game losing streak, starting 38-year-old Kirk Cousins, as No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza awaits his first career start.

Still, the silver-and-black fanbase sounded as strong as ever during its New Jersey takeover, making it clear — long before the Jets gave away a nine-point lead in a 38-33 loss — that Gang Green’s next meaningful game won’t come until next season.

It was unsettling to hear opposing fans set the soundtrack at MetLife Stadium, months removed from Knicks faithful making a mockery of the fervor of Philadelphia fans during the NBA playoffs.

But no Jets fan can be blamed for making a buck off a team that has been charging exorbitant prices for a putrid product over the past decade. No longtime devotee of the team with the longest playoff drought in major North American sports can be considered unfaithful for passing up the chance to witness another debacle.
