A teacher has been left irritated by her co-teacher because she won’t purchase Christmas gifts for the students.
They share the class, but she says she contributes more to the job financially.
“My colleague won’t spend anything on the class, she doesn’t believe they deserve her money,” the frustrated woman says in a viral post.
“I didn’t put her name on the gifts”
While the responsibility to the students is equal, their approach to the classroom environment differs.
“I spend on my class monthly. My co-teacher is more about herself — which I respect,” she said.
But there’s now a huge issue regarding taking credit.
She took to a Reddit forum asking if it’s unreasonable to not include the other teacher’s name on gifts she purchased for the kids.
“She expects me to share the gifts from her,” she wrote. “This Christmas I spent $100 on gifts, and I didn’t put her name on them.”
It was a decision that led to a complaint with HR.

“She will be viewed as a worse teacher”
Commenters were vocal about the workplace drama.
“Of course, she should not take credit for what you bought with your own money,” one said.
But this person warned: “You are creating a situation where she will be viewed as a worse teacher because she isn’t spending her personal money on these kids.”
Another suggested that it shouldn’t be coming out of her salary at all, writing:
“Your employer should give each class a small budget to be able to do these things for the children.”
The poster clarified that she previously had put the co-teacher’s name on presents, but this year felt she didn’t deserve it.
“This year she has been hateful and talking about how the kids don’t deserve it. So I decided to stop putting her name on it,” she added.
