Caitlin Clark was not having it.
The Indiana Fever star was benched during her team’s loss to the Portland Fire on Saturday night, and her reaction to a testy conversation with head coach Stephanie White has gone viral.
Clark, who finished the game with just six points on 1-of-7 shooting, was on the receiving end of some strong coaching from White during a timeout, as the latter could be seen pumping her fist and intensely delivering some instruction to the 2024 Rookie of the Year.
However, Clark could be seen arguing back at her coach and raising her arms up in the air, before White signaled for Raven Johnson to sub into the game for Clark.
Clark then shook her head as she got up from her seat, and rolled her eyes as well. A video of the exchange has more than 1.8 million views and counting on x.
The Fever ultimately lost the contest 100-84, and Clark played just 22 minutes as she picked up five fouls and struggled on defense.
The heated moment between Clark and White comes after the player declined to speak to reporters after her team’s loss to the Valkyries on Thursday.
In that game, Clark also struggled as she shot just 3-of-12 from the field and finished with 16 points – her season-low points tally before Saturday night.
The loss to Portland dropped the Fever’s record to 4-4 on the year, though Clark is still averaging a healthy 20.1 points per game.
She and the Fever will look to get back on track when they face the Dream on Thursday.
