Momfluencer, Lauren Miller has inspired a new controversial parenting trend — or perhaps exposed a taboo existing one.
In one of her most recent clips, in which she playfully captions “Wine walks in the burbs 4 life,” Lauren and her husband pour one glass of wine each and prepare to go on a walk with their baby.
Once outside, they have the stroller in hand, and their wine, too.
They’re pretty pleased with themselves — but not everyone is pleased with them.
Not by a long, ahem, shot.
The comments section was filled with concerns about mixing parenting with alcohol.
One commenter wrote, “Is this not public intoxication?” and another asked, “What if you need to drive to the hospital?”
Many were more direct.
“Alcoholism is a trend now… It ain’t normal wanting to take wine on a walk,” read one comment, for example.
And this person advised, “Hot take: there should always be an adult that’s 100% sober when you’re taking care of the baby.”
However, some took exception to the inference that one glass of wine equals alcoholism, with this person asking, “Why is everyone acting like that one cup of wine was the whole bottle?”
Of course, there were jokes aplenty: “That’s called a walktail in this house,” one quipped, to which came the reply, “We call it a cockwalk [cocktail walk].”
Mom Lauren liked those comments, but had this to say to the ‘naysayers’:
“Thanks for the fun comments fam, and to the mean comments I hope you step in dog poop today. Follow me on insta for a fun time.”
