Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson underwent surgery Thursday after tearing his Achilles again.
His status for the 2025 season is “in jeopardy,” ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reports.
Watson, 29, suffered a season-ending Achilles tear in October, MRI exams revealed.
Then, in January, in the midst of his rehabbing process, he alerted the Browns’ front office that he had had a setback in his recovery.
Tests revealed a second Achilles tear that prompted the surgery Thursday.
Watson has had two consecutive seasons cut short due to injury. He played just six games in 2023 after sustaining a shoulder fracture.
