Disgusted SoCal moviegoer calls out AMC theatre for filthy seats: ‘Do something about this’

For one moviegoer, the horror was in the theater itself.

A viral social media video revealed the disgusting conditions of the seats at the AMC movie theater in The Americana at Brand shopping center in Glendale, California.

In the shocking clip, the woman walks through the theater and shows an entire row of seats covered in dirt and black stains.

“I’m so disgusted I really walked in and walked right back out,” the poster wrote in a caption.

The woman claims that she returned to the theater after first observing the dirty seats a year and a half ago, only to find that the seats were in even worse condition.

Locals familiar with the theater spoke out in the post’s comments.

“The Americana and the Grove have the dirtiest AMCs I’ve been to despite being such fancy malls,” one commenter wrote.

“I knew EXACTLY where this was before reading the caption! I sent in a complaint and nothing. So sick,” said another.

“I rage about this every time I go there,” said a third commenter.

According to the poster, management for the location said they are working on fixing the seats. “It’s been like this for 2+ years though so maybe shut this sh** down until its fully clean and ready for the people to use again!” the poster wrote.

The viral clip racked up over 760,000 views and 1,000 comments on Instagram.

AMC responded to the clip, saying it is in the process of upgrading the theater.

“We hear you, and appreciate the feedback. The good news is that this location has already started construction on a seat replacement project, with upgraded AMC Club Rockers – wider and more comfortable seats – coming soon. We hope you’ll come back to experience the improvements!” AMC wrote in the post’s comment section.
