Everyone is lining up to fight Jake Paul.
Despite not fighting a professionally ranked boxer yet in his career, Paul is being called out by the legitimate champions in the sport.
Paul posted a message that he received from England’s Daniel Dubois, the reigning IBF heavyweight champ, calling for the two to meet in the ring.
“Hi Jake. Good business on the weekend, but how would you feel fighting for the legitimate heavyweight championship of the world? This is Daniel Dubois calling you out. Let’s get it on,” Dubois said in a direct message on Instagram.
Paul responded back with a take-a-number turn-style photo that you would find at a deli with a comment that said, “Get in line.”
The 27-year-old Dubois, who is 22-2 in his career, upset Anthony Joshua in September to win the title.
Paul, 11-1, hasn’t fought anyone near Dubois’ skillset and would be a massive underdog in the bout if it ever were to come to fruition.
Paul suffered his only career loss to Tommy Fury — a professional boxer a few rungs down from Dubois — and brother of boxing heavyweight Tyson Fury, in Saudi Arabia. The fight that was a split-decision in Feb. 2023.
What Paul lacks in ring savvy, he makes up for in box office potential.
Paul’s fight against 58-year-old Mike Tyson garnered insane amounts of attention, as broadcast partner Netflix reported 60 million viewers on their app resulting in the stream crashing on and off throughout the fight.
Fans were understandably upset about those issues, but more were annoyed about the fight itself.
Tyson looked to be carried to the finish line in the fight as he struggled to stand and move around the ring in the later rounds of the bout.
Afterward, Paul agreed that he was carrying Tyson, saying he showed his age at different points of the fight and that he “didn’t want to hurt someone who didn’t need to be hurt.”
Paul is now the biggest star in the sport by a wide margin, with everyone calling him out and vice versa.
After the Tyson bout, Paul called out UFC superstar Conor McGregor, among others.
