Lane Kiffin is preparing LSU for what could be a hostile homecoming on Saturday in Oxford.
And it’s quite creative.
The Tigers coach brought out a group of LSU students to heckle his players at practice this week ahead of Saturday’s highly anticipated matchup against Ole Miss.
Video of the scene made its way to “The Pat McAfee Show” on Friday, showing LSU players walking through a crowd of students who booed, shouted insults and held up signs designed to mimic what they will certainly hear at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
“This is the video from practice, of Lane hiring fraternity bros,” McAfee said as he put the clip on.
One sign was directed at LSU edge rusher Princewill Umanmielen, reading “See you in court” in reference to his ongoing dispute with Ole Miss over a revenue-sharing agreement.
The Tigers and Kiffin have plenty of reason to expect a tough crowd on Saturday night.
He is returning to Oxford for the first time since leaving Ole Miss for LSU during the 2025 season, ending a six-year run in which he went 55-19 and led the Rebels to their first College Football Playoff appearance.
Kiffin departed before Ole Miss began its playoff run, with former defensive coordinator Pete Golding taking over as head coach in a breakup that was as ugly as it gets.
Now Kiffin will lead No. 7 LSU into a top-10 showdown with No. 8 Ole Miss at 7:30 p.m. ET.
His return to campus has already prompted officials to significantly increase security for the game.
Ole Miss is expected to have roughly 65 to 70 Mississippi state troopers on hand, along with a helicopter, mobile command center and additional law enforcement from Mississippi and Louisiana.
Kiffin apparently isn’t leaving anything to chance with his players, either.
“There’s actual due diligence being done on people saying terrible things to these guys before they’re walking into the stadium,” McAfee said of the practice setup.
